What’s This Blog About?

Runs With A Barcode is an unofficial guide to New Zealand parkruns.

It’s designed to be the ultimate tool in planning your parkruns around New Zealand.

When I started putting this together I asked parkrun tourists what information this would like to know, so that’s where some of this content stems from.

For each course you can find out the usual stuff, such as how to get there by public transport and where the cafe is. But you can also find out the story behind it, as much as I can discover (some original event directors are no longer involved).

Forgotten your barcode? This info was added to help those tourists who arrive at a destination on a Friday and realise they are barcodeless.

Nearest shower information was added for those who can’t head back to accommodation for a shower but want to freshen up before the rest of their day.

Not every course is permanently marked, but I’ve included this information if you want to run a freedom run.

Parking info for motorhomes is based on arriving for parkrun on parkrunday, it’s not for overnight parking.

I’ve also added in some things to do while you’re there. If you have any suggestions, or you discover things have changed and this site needs updating, then please email me at runswithabarcode@gmail.com.

Many thanks,

Alison
